REO Inductive Components design and manufacture a wide range of components for railway and train applications. These include EMC filters, high frequency chokes, line filter chokes, sinus filters, high frequency and toroidal transformers, power-rail transformers, toroidal current transformers and braking resistors.
In addition REO offer solutions for test engineering such as power supplies and loadbanks for testing railway traction components.
REO provide single-phase and high-current mains filters such EMC filters, line chokes and sinus filters. REO filters are the ideal solution for suppression of interference, reduction of harmonic distortion and improvement of output voltage sine-wave, as well as motor protection and noise reduction.
REO offer a wide range of inductors such as air-cored or steel-cored chokes. All inductors for trains are available as air-cooled or water-cooled chokes and transformers with high levels of ingress protection. REO chokes are excellent for increasing the lifetime of motors, limiting short-circuits and suppressing interference currents.
REO's braking resistors are state-of-the-art solutions and can be used with both low and high-power frequency converters. REO's water-cooled braking resistors are perfect for use in restricted spaces or locations with a high ambient temperature.
REO transformers for railway applications can be used in all climates. Besides having reduced weight and high power ratings, REO transformers ensure interference suppression and protection against high current peaks.
REO voltage transducers for trains are available for frequency converters which operate at frequencies of 8Hz-200Hz. They also provide galvanic separation and are fully factory tested.
REO provide high-quality load banks and high-voltage power supplies for test engineering in the railway industry. REO's main strength in the field of components and test equipment for the railway industry is one-off solutions, built to customers’ specific requirements.
REO was founded in 1925 and so has gained long-term experience in the development and production of high-quality power equipment. The takeover of NIEKE in 2004 places REO in a strong position to offer both customer-specific solutions and system solutions for the railway industry.
